Melissa was born and raised in the San Francisco/Bay Area. She’s a first-generation Mexican American daughter of immigrant parents and the youngest of three. She has been a licensed esthetician for 8 years. In 2018, Melissa started seeing Britt regularly to help shift her depression and anxiety from the loss and trauma she experienced in her childhood and teen years. She was a teenager when her boyfriend was murdered walking home from school. For years she held the trauma and pain inside her, barely being able to go out in public alone. After experiencing Reiki and life coaching with Britt, her energy and perspective on life began to shift. Her old story of pain and sadness turned into hope, grit, courage and being of service to others. In 2019 she quit her job and opened Just Thrive, her own esthetics business. She also got certified in Reiki and Life Coaching over the past two years and launched Just Heals in 2021 in honor of Justice, her boyfriend who passed away. Her life experiences have shaped her to be a great listener, compassionate, non-judgmental and someone who understands the importance of forgiveness.
